Tutoring Style and/or Experience
Most of us have a distorted relationship with mathdrudgery, overwhelming, anxietybut we usually haven't had a chance experience what math really is. Mathematics is a beautiful art form. It's easy to lose sight of its elegance in the midst of technical procedures and endless worksheets. My goal is to help those I tutor connect with the aesthetics, motivation, and simplicity of mathematics. I help students find the underlying connections and patterns in the mathematics we study. Even the most discouraged student can become confident and successful using this approach.
I'm most interested in providing encouragement and a new approach to those having a difficult experience in math. I offer tutoring in mathematics for any age and any subject.
My students say that I'm am extremely patient and that I'm good at explaining. In truth, I help students begin to talk about the math they're doing, and help them make connections to the underlying structure and patterns they haven't noticed before. Success and confidence follow.
