Tutoring Style and/or Experience
Hello, my name is Dr. Tammy Trucks-Bordeaux. I hold a Ph.D. in English from the University of Nebraska. I've taught students in basic writing, advanced composition, basic reading skills, grammar, and literature. I've been teaching and tutoring for over sixteen years. I feel each student has a differing learning style, and I take this into account as I begin teaching a student. I believe with determination and hardwork anyone can achieve her or his goals. I first like to get to know my students because this helps me with my tutoring. What are the students' strengths or weaknesses in a subject? This helps me determine our goals as we work together. I also like to incorporate real world experiences in my teaching. What are the students' interests? I want students to know me first as well. I want them to feel comfortable with me and my teaching style. My teaching is done online through an online teaching platform, so there is no reason for students to leave the comfort of their own homes. This saves them time. I also offer a free 1 hour consultation tutoring session, so students can become familiar with the platform.
