Tutoring Style and/or Experience

I tutor Computer Science, math and web. I have been involved with tutoring since high school and really enjoy it. I am able to break down complex problems into easy to understand segments. I also think private lessons require a lot of people skills. The student and tutor have to be comfortable to discuss subjects in depth. I think that I was meant for tutoring not only because my students improve their grades, but also the fact that we do not have any dead or boring moments. I think it is crucial that the lessons are fun and full of life. This type of atmosphere creates an interest in subjects and students do not just study to pass the course but to become top in the class.

I have the ability to determine whether the student fully comprehends the concepts or not! If I feel that my student is not fluent, I use all my skills to transfer a deep understanding of the subject, even if it means extra time at no charge. After all, tutoring has never been so much for financial gain but rather a way to give back to the community.

My ultimate objective is to become an academic partner with my students. I would like to coach every aspect of academic life from time management to test strategies to complete planning as I have a lot of experience and research in degree programs and how school are operated.

Unfortunately, modern educational systems are not very student friendly and jump from elementary to advance levels within days. Most of my students think that universities are designed for people who already know the material. This problem leaves the students with weaker backgrounds in a very difficult situation.

I strongly believe that students can successfully pass courses if I could help with complex readings, homework assignments, concentrating on key material- test strategies, and most importantly introducing multiple methods to solve problems.
