I have a B.S. in Health Sciences, focusing on Physiology, Biology, and Psychology. I am currently a graduate student, studying Elementary Education to receive my teacher certification. I currently teach Motor Skills/Movement and Play to children on the Autism Spectrum, while completing observation hours within the public school system.
I have interned in grades K-5, and organized school programs such as Destination ImagiNation, Banana Splits, and Challengers. I have tutored children in grades 3-8. My students on the Spectrum are between the ages of 5-8.
I have a strong background in English and Biology/General Sciences. However, I have also tutored math and social studies at the elementary level.
For myself, I know I do best when I have one-on-one time with an educator or tutor. I believe the most effective approach is learning through our experiences and relating our experiences to the curriculum. I also believe it is important to figure out our personal learning styles in order to best tune into our capabilities in learning.
I like taking the students suggestions and thoughts on what they are learning, and how they like to learn. I have worked with students with disabilities, and feel comfortable re-arranging the curriculum and learning materials to best suit the students, while also having them learn what they need to!
