Tutoring Style and/or Experience

I believe it is most important for the student to feel comfortable and valued before any instruction can take place. I like to get to know the students and build thier confidence in their own abilities. Rather than comparing them to other students of the same age, I find it much more productive to meet the student exactly where he/she is and help build their knowledge from that point. I use a variety of different tools accessing all areas of learning linguistic, visual, auditory, hands on, musical, and any interest the student may have to help thier knowledge grow. I try my best to make it fun and they don't realize they are learning until the end of the tutoring session. In addition I am fluent in English and Spanish and have a strong background working in special education.
