I am a former classroom teacher with Jefferson County Public Schools, and I have spent over the past ten years tutoring students one on one. I work with students in grades 6 and up. My primary area of focus for tutoring is math. However, I also offer academic coaching to assist with study skills, organization, time management, etc. and I am available to work with students in other subject areas as needed, such as writing, project planning, and computer skills. During the school year I work with students in the context of their classroom assignments. During the summer I offer enrichment and remedial instruction in the area of math. I am always available to assist with academic coaching strategies throughout the year.
I have a strong background in working with students who struggle with attention difficulties (ADD), learning disabilities, the gifted and talented, as well as in working with students who are just in needed of extra assistance and support.
I cater my tutoring style to match the unique learning style of each student in order to work with and build upon a student's strengths. I offer a free initial consultation over the phone, Skype, or in person if scheduling allows.
I hold a B.A. in Psychology, an active Colorado Professional Teacher's License, an M.A. in Education, and I am currently working toward an M.A. in Psychology with an emphasis on Adolescence.
I am available late afternoons and evenings for tutoring sessions.
