I take the time to understand each student's background and what they are having trouble with. When appropriate I demonstrate how to solve problems, but I often use questions to lead the student through a process and build understanding. I go beyond the book by focusing zeroing in on the specific needs of the student. I can invent examples on the spot as I discover what the student needs help with.
I have five years of experience teaching undergraduate music classes as a TA at Indiana University. I have also taught symbolic logic. I have tutored for the SAT, GRE, and GMAT tests. Mathematics is a passion of mine: I've achieved high grades in multidimensional calculus, linear algebra, differential equations, predicate logic, and upper-level undergraduate probability and statistics courses. I would be an excellent tutor for these subjects or any high school math course.
