I take my work seriously and I enjoy what I do. My approach is always to make the lesson positive and encourage my students from the very first conversation. I think that positive reinforcement makes a big difference in motivation. I understand that learning another language can be very challenging and practice via the phone or video is an incredible way for students to have direct access to a native speaker.
My experience with the Korean culture also makes me feel very connected to my students. We talk about Korean culture, geography, and politics. Since I spent time in South Korea, I have a sense of connection to what they bring up. I am also aware of some of the challenges South Korean have in learning English. For example, the letter R and L in Korean is the same character which is why they are often mixed in English pronounciation.
I hope that my resume and my experience would be enough to show that I am a very qualified candidate for this position.
