I am a friendly, patient and very experienced tutor (Mathematics, Physics, Science - from middle school to university level). I have a PhD in Applied Physics, and although I have worked in research for a number of years, my passion lies in teaching. I very much enjoy the challenge of successfully conveying an abstract idea into easy to understand terms and examples.
My tutoring sessions, as well as my teaching method, are comprehensive: I suggest to always have a first (complimentary) meeting with the student(s), and their parent/guardian (if the student is younger than 18 years old). This meeting is not only to get acquainted, but it is also to assess the student's learning style, current comprehension level of the subject, as well as their level of (necessary) background knowledge required to reach the goals that our tutoring sessions are intended to reach. Based on the information that the student and myself find from this meeting, we can set more clear goals and steps for our session(s).
I am fluent in English, Spanish, and Farsi (Persian) and will be able to teach in any of these languages.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or if you would like references.
In order to provide the most productive study environment for the student, and to maintain my low hourly rate, I have started to tutor at my apartment, in the Westwood neighborhood. However, I still ask to have our first (complimentary) meeting at a public location, such as a public library, coffee shop, etc.
