My title is a graduate linguist, which means that I studied the form, meaning and context of the English language from a scientific point of view. Moreover, at my college, I had courses like methodology and linguistics, which brought closer modern and effective methods and techniques of teaching lessons to students and the principles of students' acquisition of language.
The CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Speakers of Other Languages) certificate I obtained is one more step up my professional ladder. Not only did I earn a certificate that is internationally recognised, highly respected and a benchmark for quality, but I also got a high grade (Pass B), which had been awarded to only 20% of candidates of all time. Unlike traditional teaching, where a teacher is in the center of a classroom, the CELTA certificate proposed an opposite view where a student is an active learner who needs to be actively involved in the process of acquiring a new language. Furthermore, as a CELTA tutor, I pay more attention to students' needs and language problems through feedback and questionnaires. My students do not think of grammar lessons like an obstacle but they actually enjoy them and adopt grammar rules in a relaxed manner through games and interesting handouts.
