I’d like to introduce myself and my qualifications. I was born in New York and lived in Los Angeles and Philadelphia then moved to Sarasota (I love it here!). I've worked in office management and administrative support for over 25 years and have a BA in Sociology and an MA in Educational Psychology. I’m highly qualified to teach computer and mouse skills, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email and Outlook. My experience includes a volunteer position at Selby Library where I taught computer skills and Word, and also had an individual student.
My philosophy is that every adult or child comes with a different level of proficiency and skills and learns in different ways and speeds. That’s why I'm patient and teach from the student’s point of view so they learn in the way that works bests for them. I’m encouraging and offer positive feedback so the student feels “safe” to ask questions. Whether an adult a child, it’s vital for everyone to advance their learning so they’re able to compete on a level playing field in school or in the work force.
So you have a level of comfort with me as a tutor, I'd be happy to offer a complimentary 1/2 hour of tutoring before you decide to go forward.
