First things first: I am not a subject-specific tutor; I am a skills coach.
What does that mean? As a full-time college instructor for the past eight years, I have interacted closely with undergraduate students at several universities and colleges in Southern California. One common theme kept showing up in every place I worked: students have trouble with the habits and skills that are necessary for success in college and in the workplace. These include study skills, classroom participation skills, writing and research skills, and time management.
I provide online personal coaching and group classes to help college-bound high-school seniors and undergraduate students learn these skills and habits, with simple consultations and webinars geared towards the high-school senior and college undergraduate and their busy lifestyle. You'll also get the professor's-eye view of what's really expected in your college classes - and that will be an eye-opener!
Students who have taken my seminars as part of my college classes report that they have improved their study skills and writing skills, their time management across the board, and their classroom participation. Many of them report less stress and better grades, too. If you're a high-school senior or recent graduate who's college-bound, I can help you make the adjustment to what college expects; if you're an undergraduate who's struggling, I can help you, too.
