My teaching experience includes over eight years as a classroom teacher in the Oakland and Richmond (CA) public and charter school districts. I’m also working for several private tutoring agencies, where I’m certified to tutor both the SAT and ACT college entrance exams, in addition to biology, chemistry and math. I hold an M.S. degree in molecular & cell biology and a B.S. degree in environmental science from U.C. Berkeley. I’ve worked over fifteen years in the bio-pharmaceutical industry, both as a lab researcher and as a business development manager.
I believe that all students deserve a tutor, who is kind, patient and knowledgeable, who can relate to each students individual needs and challenge and encourage the student to achieve beyond their expectations of themselves. I strive to provide each student with a customized program based on their individual learning styles and aptitude to enable them to master the required subject material. I’ve had experience working with students with a range of learning disabilities and have devised strategies for teaching them. I strive to make my classes highly interactive and practical, to encourage the interest of my students in math and the sciences.
