I'm published, award-winning writer with a wide portfolio - including a few local publications you may have heard of (The Stranger, for instance). Learning to write well is quite a challenge, and finding the right teacher is half the battle! There are many writing tutors who'll be able to teach you the fundamentals of good writing, without ever touching some of the most important rules: structure, theme, form, etc. This is why it is so important to have a teacher who doesn't just look at your writing in terms of what is grammatically correct, but as an entire, finished piece. This is where I can help.
Unlike many tutors, I have experience in the actual industry of writing. I've judged national and international literary contests, worked with literary agents and on journalistic publications. My first novel is currently in the final stages of negotiation with StepLeft Publishing. I understand more than what it takes to make a sentence look good - I can help make an entire project look good!
I also have over six years of experience working with kids K-12 to help develop study habits, learn complex mathematical concepts, and learn to LOVE reading. Working with kids is one of my great passions and I've often found that, after they learn what I've accomplished in writing, they get jazzed about what they are going to achieve themselves!
