Am I knowledgable about math subjects? ABSOLUTELY! (I have worked as a math teacher in public schools and private schools for eight years. I taught subjects ranging from middle school math to high school trigonometry.)
Am I knowledgable about teaching methods? COMPLETELY! (I have a Masters degree in Education from Pepperdine University, and I'm currently enrolled in a doctoral program at Azusa Pacific University. Currently, I work at Crafton Hills College as the coordinator of the college's tutoring center. My job is to hire, train, and supervise the tutoring staff. My expertise is helping students learn how to learn.)
Am I a creative teacher? POSITIVELY! (Not only did I study math as a college student at University of Redlands, but I also majored in English/Creative Writing. I teach math from a non-mathematician's perspective.)
Am I patient? EXTREMELY! (I spent a few years doing everything from working as a camp counselor to performing as a children's birthday party magician.)
My tutoring philosophy: A tutor should do his/her job so well that the student doesn't need the tutor anymore. A tutor should not only help you with your homework...the tutor should also teach you how to be an independent thinker so you can also have some success when the tutor is not with you.
