I have been tutoring since receiving my Masters degree from Northwestern in 1983. Earlier in my career, I worked in clinical settings evaluating the educational abilities and needs of students and working with their teachers to develop appropriate educational programs and teaching strategies. For many years, I had a private practice in which I provided diagnostic educational assessments as well as tutoring for children and adults. In my current position as the 8th grade resource learning teacher and special education team leader, I teach English, math and several learning resource classes which focus on reading, writing and study skills.
The individual abilities, skills, and personality of the student always inform my teaching. I develop an individual plan to meet the needs of the students I teach. Students seem to respond to my dedication and sense of humor.
