I am an aspiring middle school teacher currently substitute teaching in the Lake Elsinore Unified School District. I graduated two years ago from UC San Diego with a BA in Political Science, and will be going back to school in the fall to start work on my single subject credential. I have always had a knack for explaining things to others, starting at a very young age. I tutored several students while I was in high school, and especially enjoy teaching pre-algebra, social studies, and English/Language Arts. I am comfortable with all ages but normally teach middle school and do very well with pre-teens and adolescents. The subject I am teaching will determine the teaching style, though I will bring an upbeat, fun attitude to any appointment. For example, a student needing help with math would probably go over several problems step by step with me first, then try a few on their own, and work on problems that were progressively harder as they mastered each step. A student working on an English paper, however, would work with a template (ex: introduction/thesis/supporting paragraphs/conclusion), write a rough draft, edit, and then produce the final draft. I am available to tutor everyday but Sunday. M-F I am available from 3-10pm, provided I am not working at my evening job. Please email me if you are interested.
